Jason Simpson is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Orla Mining Ltd., a company renowned for its operations at the Camino Rojo mine in Zacatecas, Mexico, which produces both gold and silver. With over 28 years of experience in mining operations, engineering, and project construction, Simpson has been instrumental in steering Orla Mining towards growth and success.

Before joining Orla Mining, Simpson held significant positions in the mining industry. From 2013 to 2018, he served as the Chief Operating Officer at Torex Gold Resources Inc., overseeing the successful construction and operation of the El Limón-Guajes mine in Mexico. Before that, he spent 11 years at Vale S.A., culminating his tenure as General Manager of the Labrador Operations (Voisey's Bay) from 2011 to 2013. His early career included roles at McIntosh Redpath Engineering, where he worked on mining studies for major companies, including Barrick, Freeport-McMoRan, CVRD, and Rio Tinto.

Simpson's academic background is rooted in physics and mining engineering. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Dalhousie University and a degree in Mining Engineering from the Technical University of Nova Scotia. These qualifications have provided him with a strong foundation to navigate the complexities of the mining sector.

In November 2018, Simpson was appointed President, CEO, and Director of Orla Mining Ltd. Under his leadership, the company has advanced its flagship project, the Camino Rojo mine, transforming it into a significant gold and silver producer. His strategic vision has been pivotal in expanding the company's portfolio and enhancing shareholder value.
