Founded in 1824, Reed & Barton was a silver manufacturer that produced silverware, flatware and other silver goods. The firm was known as Babit and Grossman before apprentices Henry G. Reed and Charles E. Barton took over in 1840. Descendants of Henry G. Reed remained a key part of the ownership and leadership of Reed & Barton until it 2015 when it became part of the Lenox Corporation family of brands.

Over the years, Reed & Barton received commissions from both national and foreign governments. The many honours and awards, are wide ranging……a Medal of Excellence at the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial Exhibition……the Olympic Medals for the 1996 Atlanta games…..the trophy President Dwight Eisenhower was awarded when he won the National Celebrities Tournament in 1954….the knife used by President John F. Kennedy for his inaugural cake.
For about 200 years, Reed & Barton built a reputation as one of the United States top makers of high-quality giftware and tableware. In addition to barware and flatware, it manufactures a wide range of unique giftware, including children’s gifts, picture frames, crystal and metal serving pieces, hardwood chests and Christmas ornaments.
